Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on factory machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on production lines promptly and effectively.
- Execute corrective maintenance and repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Calibrate and adjust equipment to meet precise manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and production line upgrades.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports for all repair and service activities.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production operators as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Factory Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency in electrical systems, including PLC control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations within an industrial setting.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Forklift truck license or similar mobile plant certification.
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
