Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting regular safety inspections of premises, equipment, and work processes to identify potential hazards.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of health and safety procedures and policies in accordance with Latvian and EU regulations.
  • Document and report safety incidents, near misses, and non-compliance issues, helping to investigate their root causes.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to the development of training materials for employees.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper application and maintenance.
  • Help maintain safety records, reports, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and availability for audits.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive safety culture by encouraging employees to report hazards and follow safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with various departments to address specific safety concerns and implement corrective actions.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information clearly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • High level of responsibility and a proactive attitude towards safety.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office Suite).
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of Latvian language (advantageous for workplace communication).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Any coursework or certification in occupational health and safety (even introductory).
  • Knowledge of basic first aid principles.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (even unrelated roles).
  • Fluency in Latvian and Russian languages.
