Job Description
UWCSEA is seeking an inspirational and highly dedicated Secondary School Teacher to join our dynamic faculty with an immediate start. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in designated secondary school subjects, adhering to UWCSEA's curriculum framework.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all students.
- Actively participate in the school's co-curricular activities, outdoor education, and service programmes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan, develop, and refine curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessment practices.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding student performance and well-being.
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the wider school community through pastoral care, mentoring, and support for student initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioural incidents.
- Promote and uphold the UWC mission and values in all aspects of school life.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject area with a postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, M.Ed).
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience at the secondary school level.
- Demonstrated expertise in a specific secondary school subject (e.g., Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities).
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and effective classroom management strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Proficiency in integrating technology effectively into teaching and learning.
- Commitment to holistic education and student well-being.
- Valid teaching license or certification appropriate for secondary education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching an international curriculum, particularly the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme or Middle Years Programme (MYP).
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
