As a Project Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and diligent monitoring of various impactful health projects across diverse regions of Kenya. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities in alignment with Amref's strategic goals and donor requirements.
  • Support the development of detailed work plans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks for assigned projects.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor progress, provide technical support, and ensure quality control.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and community meetings with project beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, including progress reports, financial reports, and donor updates.
  • Engage with community leaders, local government officials, and partner organizations to foster strong collaborative relationships.
  • Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes, collecting and analyzing data to assess impact.
  • Identify potential project risks and challenges, proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization efforts by assisting in proposal writing and concept development.
  • Ensure compliance with Amref's policies, donor guidelines, and ethical standards in all project activities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Amref's mission and values.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites within Kenya.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience (even internship/volunteer) in project support or community development.
  • Familiarity with public health programs and challenges in Kenya.
  • Experience in data collection and basic M&E tools.
  • Knowledge of donor reporting requirements (e.g., USAID, EU, Global Fund).
