Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, testing, and scaling of cloud applications using tools like Cloud Build, Spinnaker, or Jenkins.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Automate operational tasks, configuration management, and infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency within the GCP environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers on GCP best practices and cloud-native development.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP services and cloud technologies, evaluating and recommending their adoption where appropriate.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, IAM).
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Bash).
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Load Balancing) and security best practices in a cloud environment.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Engineer certification.
- Experience with serverless technologies like Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
- Familiarity with data services (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub) and data warehousing concepts.
- Understanding of machine learning workflows and GCP ML services (e.g., AI Platform, Vertex AI).
- Experience with microservices architecture and API management.
- Knowledge of enterprise security controls and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
