Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently unload incoming packages from delivery vehicles, containers, and trailers.
- Sort packages accurately by destination, routing, and service type, utilizing automated and manual sorting systems.
- Scan packages using handheld devices to ensure proper tracking and record-keeping.
- Load sorted packages onto outbound vehicles, ensuring optimal space utilization and package integrity.
- Verify package labels, addresses, and other shipping information for accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and regulations, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.
- Report any damaged packages or operational discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately read and interpret package labels and routing information.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Punctuality and a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning equipment operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or package handling environment.
