Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Shopify Quality Assurance Tester to join our dynamic team in Boston, MA. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Shopify e-commerce platforms, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, UI/UX, performance, and cross-browser compatibility testing to identify potential issues.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using appropriate bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), ensuring clear and concise communication with development teams.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and designers throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quality is embedded from the initial stages.
- Validate new features, bug fixes, and system integrations on Shopify, ensuring they meet specified requirements and design mockups accurately.
- Participate actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings within an Agile/Scrum framework to contribute to team success.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely status reports on testing progress, identified issues, and potential risks to project stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies, including exploring and implementing test automation strategies.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) support and facilitate valuable feedback from business stakeholders to refine the product.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance testing, specifically within e-commerce platforms.
- Demonstrable experience with the Shopify platform, including theme customization, app integration, and understanding of checkout processes.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, particularly in an Agile development environment.
- Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
- Ability to perform various types of testing: functional, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal) to articulate findings effectively.
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and understanding of API testing concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) for web applications.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and their role in QA.
- Shopify Developer or Shopify Partner certification is a significant plus.
- Experience working with different Shopify apps and integrations (e.g., ERP, CRM, marketing automation platforms).
- Knowledge of performance testing tools and concepts to ensure optimal website speed and responsiveness.
