Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date tax advice and support to customers across Canada via phone, chat, and other digital platforms.
  • Review and assist customers with the preparation and filing of various Canadian personal income tax returns (T1), ensuring compliance with CRA regulations.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research to resolve complex tax questions and provide tailored solutions.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through professional, empathetic, and efficient communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and escalate product issues or customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with Canadian tax legislation, provincial tax changes, and Intuit product updates.
  • Document customer interactions and resolutions thoroughly and accurately.
  • Identify opportunities to educate customers on Intuit products and services to help them achieve their financial goals.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Canadian personal income tax preparation.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, regulations, and CRA guidelines.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, ProFile, TaxCycle).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to analyze complex tax situations and provide clear, concise advice.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a relevant accounting or finance degree/diploma.
  • Professional designation such as CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, or having obtained an Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset.
  • Experience with small business tax concepts and self-employment income.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing tax advisory role.
