Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and support to TurboTax users regarding Canadian tax laws and software functionality.
- Review tax returns prepared by customers for accuracy and completeness, identifying potential errors or missed deductions.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, chat, or email, offering clear and concise explanations.
- Assist customers with basic to intermediate tax preparation questions, including income, deductions, and credits.
- Research complex tax scenarios using internal tools and external resources to provide informed solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and Intuit product updates.
- Document customer interactions and resolutions accurately in our systems.
- Collaborate with team members and escalate complex issues to senior tax experts when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all confidentiality and data security protocols.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or financial services.
- Strong understanding of Canadian personal income tax (T1) principles.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to explain complex tax concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Proficiency in using tax software and general computer applications.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to helping customers.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in both English and French (bilingualism highly preferred for Quebec region).
- Experience with Intuit's TurboTax software or similar tax preparation products.
- A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a remote customer support role.
- Successful completion of a tax preparation course (e.g., CRA certification).
