Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor highly complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including tools for lithography, etch, deposition, and test, ensuring processes run according to specifications.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and calibration on various production machines to ensure optimal performance, extend equipment lifespan, and minimize unexpected downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, executing minor repairs and coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams for more complex technical issues.
  • Adhere strictly to cleanroom protocols, environmental health and safety (EHS) procedures, and rigorous quality control standards at all times to maintain product integrity and a safe working environment.
  • Collect, analyze, and accurately document process data, reporting any deviations, anomalies, or issues to shift leads or process engineers promptly.
  • Load and unload wafers, substrates, and other materials, ensuring proper handling, tracking, and inventory management throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, safety protocols, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, engineers, and support staff to achieve demanding production goals and maintain a high-performance work culture.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, or completion of a relevant vocational/technical program (e.g., Electromechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics).
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry, equipment control software, and internal communication tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, precision, and ability to follow precise, multi-step instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including bunny suits, safety glasses, and gloves.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or technical certificate in Electromechanical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering technology field.
  • Previous experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microelectronics, or a similar high-tech cleanroom production environment.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) or other quality methodologies for process monitoring and improvement.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, on a compressed work week schedule (if applicable to the specific shift pattern).
