Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production machinery and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and operating procedures.
- Perform routine quality checks on manufactured parts and components, identifying and reporting any defects or deviations.
- Load and unload materials and products from machines, ensuring proper placement and handling.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs, to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
- Maintain accurate production records, logs, and documentation as required.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to optimize processes and resolve production issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.
- Assist in the training of new team members on machine operations and safety procedures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the production process.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and machine interface operation.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in manufacturing, mechanical technology, or a related field.
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems or robotics.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prior experience in the automotive or aerospace manufacturing industry.
- Forklift certification or experience operating other material handling equipment.
