Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance technicians with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks on production machinery and facility equipment.
- Perform basic diagnostic checks and troubleshooting to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment components to ensure optimal performance and extend lifespan.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery or upgrades.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used accurately and completely.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and spare parts inventory.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills.
- Collaborate effectively with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capacity to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Availability for immediate start and willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in a maintenance-related role.
- Technical diploma or certification in Mechanics, Electro-mechanics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems and controls.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance software or systems.
- Proficiency in both English and French (bilingualism is a strong asset in Quebec).
