Key Responsibilities
- Execute accurate cycle counts and physical inventory counts of all merchandise.
- Maintain precise inventory records and reconcile discrepancies using company-specific inventory management systems.
- Oversee the receiving, inspection, and accurate stocking of incoming shipments.
- Organize and optimize warehouse storage space for maximum efficiency and accessibility.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and damaged goods.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers, safely and efficiently (certification provided if needed).
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and logistics departments to ensure seamless product flow and availability.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, sanitation standards, and operational policies.
- Assist in preparing merchandise for transfer or shipment as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with inventory management principles and practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn material handling equipment.
- Proficiency in using inventory software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Problem-solving aptitude for identifying and resolving inventory issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail, warehouse, or inventory control role.
- Forklift operator certification or previous experience operating similar equipment.
- Familiarity with Costco's operational procedures and product categories.
