As an Order Picker, you will navigate our state-of-the-art distribution facility, utilizing scanning technology and manual methods to locate, retrieve, and prepare various items for shipment. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specifications, ensuring product integrity and quantity correctness.
- Operate manual and powered equipment safely and efficiently, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks (training provided if needed).
- Utilize warehouse management system (WMS) handheld scanners or other technology to track inventory and update order status.
- Perform quality checks on picked items to ensure they meet standards before packing and shipping.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments as required, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity goals and deadlines.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns promptly.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as assigned.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Richmond facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or order picking role.
- Familiarity with handheld scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
