Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport merchandise to designated locations, primarily TJX retail stores within the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify merchandise against delivery manifests to ensure accuracy and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, store personnel, and supervisors regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely when required.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with store associates and other personnel.
- Be prepared for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
Required Skills
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C or higher) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of professional delivery or logistics experience.
- Familiarity with the San Francisco Bay Area road networks and traffic patterns.
- Experience operating various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, box trucks).
- Proficiency with GPS devices and navigation applications.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
