Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
- Efficiently manage guest check-out processes, including bill settlement and foreign exchange.
- Handle reservation inquiries, modifications, and cancellations with precision, both in person and over the phone.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions and amenities.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, inquiries, and complaints, striving for first-call resolution.
- Operate the switchboard, directing calls and taking messages accurately for guests and internal departments.
- Maintain a tidy, organised, and professional front desk area at all times.
- Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures, adhering to all financial policies.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Concierge, Food & Beverage) to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge to best serve guests and promote hotel offerings.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures and protocols.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a guest-facing role.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Marriott's brand standards.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in demanding or high-pressure situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel front desk or reception role within the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of Marriott's brand standards and operating procedures.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English (e.g., French, Spanish, German).
- Experience with Opera PMS or similar hotel property management systems.
- A qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- First Aid certification.
