Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and safely load and unload delivery trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling of all merchandise.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks efficiently and safely (comprehensive training will be provided).
- Sort, stack, and organize products in the warehouse according to established procedures and inventory management systems.
- Verify product counts against manifests and identify any discrepancies, damages, or missing items, reporting them promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines, operational procedures, and governmental regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized work environment, including aisles, loading docks, and storage areas, to prevent hazards.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including stock rotation, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation, as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers to meet daily targets and ensure smooth logistical flow.
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks and report any maintenance issues or malfunctions immediately to ensure optimal equipment function.
- Ensure timely and efficient movement of goods to support distribution schedules and minimize delays in the supply chain.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and fundamental safety principles.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling and verifying products.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions diligently and accurately.
- Basic numeracy skills for counting, sorting, and verifying quantities of goods.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and hazard-free workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (e.g., 6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, or similar material handling environment.
- Prior experience operating forklifts, electric pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- A valid driver's license may be beneficial for specific equipment operation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
