Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inventory counts and cycle counts with high accuracy to ensure precise stock levels across all departments.
  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming merchandise, meticulously verifying quantities against purchase orders and vendor invoices.
  • Identify, document, and promptly report any discrepancies, damages, or quality control issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain impeccably organized stockrooms and storage areas, strictly adhering to all company safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
  • Assist proactively in product rotation to minimize spoilage, reduce waste, and ensure optimal freshness of perishable goods.
  • Utilize advanced inventory management systems to track product movement, monitor stock levels, and generate comprehensive inventory reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with sales, receiving, and merchandising teams to optimize stock flow, prevent out-of-stock situations, and support promotional activities.
  • Conduct regular audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records, investigating and resolving any variances.
  • Participate actively in year-end inventory processes and other critical operational tasks as required to support store objectives.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and safely.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, fostering teamwork.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per retail demands.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control principles and stock management best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ year) in a retail or warehouse inventory control role.
  • Familiarity with advanced inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack) if required.
