Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sync Licensing Manager to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles. This is an immediate opening for a professional who is passionate about music and possesses a deep understanding of the sync licensing landscape across film, television, advertising, video games, and new media. As a Sync Licensing Manager, you will be instrumental in identifying and securing synchronization opportunities for our extensive catalog of songs, acting as a crucial bridge between our incredible songwriters and content creators. You will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with music supervisors, advertising agencies, film studios, TV networks, and gaming companies, proactively pitching our repertoire to align with their creative needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively pitch Warner Chappell Music's diverse catalog of songs to music supervisors, ad agencies, film/TV studios, and gaming companies for sync opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the film, television, advertising, and interactive media industries.
  • Negotiate deal terms, fees, and usage rights for synchronization licenses, ensuring optimal value for our songwriters.
  • Draft, review, and finalize sync licenses, working closely with legal and copyright departments.
  • Respond to incoming sync requests and briefs with appropriate and creative music suggestions.
  • Track and manage a pipeline of active deals, ensuring timely follow-up and deal closure.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with A&R, marketing, and administration teams to identify priority repertoire and maximize licensing potential.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market changes, and competitive landscape within sync licensing.
  • Represent Warner Chappell Music at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of our sync licensing department, identifying new opportunities and efficiencies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sync licensing within music publishing, a record label, or a music supervision company.
  • Proven track record of successful music placements in film, television, advertising, or video games.
  • Extensive network of contacts within the music supervision and content creation communities.
  • Deep knowledge of music genres, artists, and catalog, with an ability to match music to creative briefs.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with licensing databases/systems.
