Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a specific kitchen section (e.g., larder, hot section, pastry), ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to company recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring proper rotation, storage, and minimal wastage.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP procedures.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs on menu development and special events.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation, including equipment and utensils.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering as required.
  • Ensure timely and efficient preparation of all food items for service.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role in a reputable hotel or restaurant.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Culinary degree or relevant professional qualifications.
  • Experience working in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
