Job Description
We are urgently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our dynamic team at Vets4Pets Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to become an integral part of a busy, friendly, and supportive practice. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive veterinary examinations, diagnostics, and treatments for small animals.
- Conduct a variety of surgical procedures, including routine soft tissue surgery and emergency operations.
- Manage a diverse caseload independently while also collaborating effectively with the veterinary team.
- Provide empathetic client communication, explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventative care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with practice standards.
- Participate in an equitable share of the out-of-hours rota (if applicable, with appropriate compensation).
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of the latest veterinary advancements.
Required Skills
- Veterinary degree (MRCVS or eligible for registration in the UK)
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in small animal practice
- Proven surgical and medical competency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a varied small animal caseload
- Specific interest or further qualifications in a particular area of veterinary medicine (e.g., ultrasonography, internal medicine)
- Experience with coaching or mentoring junior colleagues
