Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and Gas Safe registered Certified Gas Fitter to join our growing team in Portsmouth, England. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of gas appliances and heating systems within residential and commercial properties. This pivotal role requires a meticulous approach, a strong understanding of gas regulations, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas central heating systems, boilers, and other gas appliances in accordance with Gas Safe regulations.
  • Conduct thorough safety checks and diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve gas-related issues efficiently.
  • Perform annual landlord gas safety checks (CP12) and issue relevant certification.
  • Provide expert advice and technical support to clients regarding their gas appliances and heating systems.
  • Manage and maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Liaise effectively with customers, colleagues, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in an on-call rota for emergency breakdowns as required.
  • Keep up-to-date with new technologies, regulations, and best practices in the gas industry through continuous professional development.

Required Skills

  • Gas Safe Registered (mandatory)
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Gas Fitter/Engineer, with domestic and/or commercial qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1 etc.)
  • Full UK driving license with a clean record
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with smart heating controls and renewable energy systems
  • Commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1/A) highly desirable
  • OFTEC registration (Oil Fired Technical Association)
  • F-Gas qualification
  • Experience with various boiler manufacturers (e.g., Vaillant, Worcester Bosch, Ideal)
