Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various manual labour tasks as assigned on construction sites, agricultural fields, manufacturing plants, or other industrial settings.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople and operators with their tasks, including carrying materials, preparing sites, and cleaning up.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads to complete tasks effectively and on schedule.
  • Participate in site setup and breakdown, including erecting and dismantling temporary structures if required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive work culture.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform strenuous tasks, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively in various weather conditions and environments (indoor/outdoor).
  • Basic understanding and adherence to workplace safety procedures.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
  • Good communication skills, sufficient to understand and respond to workplace instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in general labour, construction, agriculture, or a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and power equipment.
  • Valid driver's license (an asset but not always required depending on the role).
  • First Aid and/or CPR certification.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
