Job Description

We are actively seeking experienced and highly skilled Welders to join our dedicated team in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and other technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as TIG, MIG, and Stick welding (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW).
  • Operate oxygen-acetylene and other flame-cutting equipment, as well as grinders and other metalworking tools.
  • Layout, cut, and fit materials to create custom components or complete structures with precision.
  • Inspect finished products and welds for quality and compliance with specifications, using precision measuring instruments and visual inspection.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members, supervisors, and project managers to ensure project timelines and objectives are met efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, contributing to a positive and productive environment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Welder in an industrial or fabrication setting.
  • Proficiency in multiple welding processes, including SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) with various materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols accurately.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various metal properties, filler materials, and appropriate welding techniques.
  • Strong understanding and unwavering commitment to workplace safety procedures and practices.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a Red Seal Endorsement (Interprovincial Red Seal) for Welder.
  • Completion of a recognized college or vocational program in welding technology.
  • Experience with specialty alloys, aluminum, or exotic materials.
  • Previous experience working in a Canadian industrial environment and familiarity with local regulations.
  • Familiarity with CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) standards and certifications.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes (certification an asset).
