Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications and provide comprehensive medication counselling to patients.
  • Conduct thorough patient consultations, including drug therapy reviews, adverse effect monitoring, and disease state management.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and ensure compliance with all provincial and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care and resolve medication-related issues.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, assistants, and students, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Participate in health and wellness programs, including immunizations, health screenings, and patient education initiatives.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage of medications.
  • Adhere to all Shoppers Drug Mart policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of professional practice.
  • Address patient concerns and resolve issues effectively and compassionately.
  • Stay updated on new drugs, therapies, and regulations through continuous professional development.

Required Skills

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (or eligible for licensure).
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc.Pharm).
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, drug interactions, and therapeutics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and dispensing technology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to patient safety and customer service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting.
