Job Description

Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union (NLCU) is seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic Marketing and Communications team in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality visual content for various marketing and communications initiatives, including digital ads, social media graphics, website assets, email campaigns, brochures, posters, annual reports, and presentations.
  • Ensure all visual materials adhere strictly to NLCU's brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in style, tone, and messaging across all channels.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing, Communications, and other internal teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audiences.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of exceptional quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends, design tools, and technologies to continuously enhance design capabilities and recommend innovative visual solutions.
  • Prepare files for both digital and print production, liaising with external vendors as needed to ensure successful output.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Maintain an organized library of digital assets, templates, and brand resources.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse graphic design projects, demonstrating creativity, technical skills, and understanding of design principles.
  • Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Proven ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging visual designs.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a TN Visa under the USMCA agreement (formerly NAFTA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably within the financial services or a regulated industry.
  • Experience with motion graphics or video editing (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Familiarity with web design principles and UX/UI best practices.
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS).
