Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by regularly washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, utilizing industrial dishwashers when available.
- Sanitize all workstations, countertops, and kitchen equipment according to strict health and safety standards and company policies.
- Properly store food items, ensuring correct labeling, dating, and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Receive and unpack food and supply deliveries, accurately verifying quantities and quality of goods, and storing them in appropriate areas.
- Dispose of kitchen waste and recycling properly and efficiently, adhering to environmental guidelines.
- Assist with plating and serving food as required, ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP guidelines and local health department requirements.
- Support the culinary team with any other tasks as needed to ensure smooth, efficient, and successful kitchen operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, or potential safety hazards to the supervisor promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively and accurately.
