Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage check-ins and check-outs efficiently, and handle all guest registration processes.
- Process payments, manage cash handling, and maintain accurate guest accounts.
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions in San Diego.
- Resolve guest issues and complaints with empathy and efficiency, escalating complex problems to management when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments, including housekeeping, concierge, and management, to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations accurately using the property management system.
- Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures and policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and experience with hotel property management systems (e.g., OnQ, Opera) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to assist guests.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Fluency in multiple languages (especially Spanish given our location in San Diego).
- Prior experience with conflict resolution and complaint handling in a customer-facing role.
