Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, testing, and deployment processes.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to manage and provision infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and observability.
- Monitor system health, performance, and security, responding to incidents and proactively identifying areas for improvement.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in areas such as containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), security, and compliance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical systems (compensated).
- Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance our DevOps capabilities.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and networking concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or equivalent certifications.
- Experience with other cloud providers (Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL).
- Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
