Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver prescription medications and other pharmacy products to customers' residences or designated locations.
- Verify customer identification and obtain signatures as required for prescription deliveries, ensuring strict adherence to privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including routes, delivery times, and any issues encountered.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately for C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) orders when applicable.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with pharmacy staff and customers regarding delivery status or any delays.
- Ensure the secure transportation of medications, maintaining their integrity and condition during transit.
- Follow all traffic laws and safe driving practices, operating the delivery vehicle responsibly.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and delivery protocols.
- Assist with other pharmacy-related tasks as needed during non-delivery times, contributing to overall pharmacy operations.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and map applications efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and carry delivery packages up to 25 lbs.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a polite and professional demeanor.
- Reliable personal vehicle or ability to operate a company-provided vehicle.
- Knowledge of local Philadelphia area streets and traffic patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery services, especially medical or pharmaceutical delivery.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
