Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Provide expert tax advisory services to a diverse client base, identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis on complex tax issues, developing well-reasoned conclusions and recommendations.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and effectively communicating tax strategies and implications.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities and support clients through tax audits.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation, accounting standards, and industry trends to ensure continuous compliance and proactive advice.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and cross-functional projects within the firm.
Required Skills
- Hold a valid CPA qualification (or equivalent, e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA for UK).
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in tax accounting, preferably within a professional services firm or large corporate tax department.
- In-depth knowledge of UK corporate and personal tax laws, including VAT and other relevant taxes.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax concepts clearly.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience with international tax matters or cross-border transactions.
- Prior experience working with clients in specific industries relevant to the Hull market.
