Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general landscaping and yard maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding.
  • Prune shrubs and small trees, and plant flowers, shrubs, and trees according to design specifications.
  • Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with the installation of hardscaping elements, irrigation systems, and other landscape features as directed.
  • Participate in property clean-ups, including debris removal, leaf collection, and raking.
  • Ensure the proper care and storage of tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor on client properties.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Crew Leader promptly.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate basic landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a professional landscaping or grounds maintenance role.
  • Basic knowledge of common landscaping techniques and plant identification.
  • Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Basic understanding of irrigation systems.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Horticultural education or relevant certifications.
