Key Responsibilities
- Perform general landscaping and yard maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding.
- Prune shrubs and small trees, and plant flowers, shrubs, and trees according to design specifications.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with the installation of hardscaping elements, irrigation systems, and other landscape features as directed.
- Participate in property clean-ups, including debris removal, leaf collection, and raking.
- Ensure the proper care and storage of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues.
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor on client properties.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Crew Leader promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to operate basic landscaping tools and equipment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a professional landscaping or grounds maintenance role.
- Basic knowledge of common landscaping techniques and plant identification.
- Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Horticultural education or relevant certifications.
