Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments, impact studies, and due diligence investigations for various projects.
- Design and oversee the implementation of water and wastewater treatment systems, stormwater management plans, and waste management facilities.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, detailed specifications, and regulatory permit applications.
- Perform thorough site investigations, precise data collection, and robust analysis for complex environmental projects.
- Ensure all project activities maintain strict compliance with federal, provincial, and local environmental regulations (e.g., MOECP, O. Reg. 153/04).
- Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently to ensure timely and on-budget delivery.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering their professional growth.
- Stay abreast of new environmental technologies, evolving regulations, and industry best practices.
- Participate actively in business development activities and cultivate strong client relationships.
- Conduct site inspections and field assessments, often requiring travel within the region.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, or eligible for immediate registration.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting or a related public/private sector.
- Demonstrated experience with environmental assessments, water/wastewater engineering, or waste management projects.
- Proficiency in Canadian and Ontario-specific environmental regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for frequent site visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with contaminated site assessment and remediation (Phase I, II, III ESAs).
- Knowledge of hydrogeology and groundwater modeling software.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Experience using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for environmental data analysis and mapping.
- Familiarity with climate change adaptation and resilience planning principles.
