Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes to improve efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Conduct process simulations and data analysis to identify areas for improvement and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Support the preparation of engineering reports, technical documentation, and project specifications.
  • Participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs) and other safety reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on various projects, from conceptualization to implementation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and process parameters, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various processes.
  • Research new technologies and methodologies to enhance process capabilities.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and Chevron's operational guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus) is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French (bilingualism preferred for Quebec).
  • High level of motivation, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant internship or co-op experience in a process-oriented industry (e.g., oil and gas, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals).
  • Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles.
  • Membership or eligibility for OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
