Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automation frameworks and test suites for various game features and systems.
- Collaborate with QA Leads, Developers, and Designers to understand game features and identify optimal automation strategies.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality feedback.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and report defects accurately to development teams.
- Research and implement new testing tools, techniques, and technologies to improve automation coverage and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members on automation best practices.
- Monitor and optimize automation performance, stability, and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality automation code standards.
- Actively contribute to the overall quality strategy and continuous improvement of the QA process.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in QA automation engineering, preferably in the gaming industry.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, C#) and object-oriented programming.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or custom game engine tools).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience integrating automation into build pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of performance testing and profiling tools.
- Experience with database systems (SQL/NoSQL).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Previous experience working on AAA game titles.
- A passion for video games and an understanding of game development pipelines.
