Job Description
Southeastern Freight Lines is actively seeking experienced and safety-conscious Team Truck Drivers to join our dynamic linehaul operations based out of our Jacksonville, Florida terminal. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMV) in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Team drive with a co-driver to maximize mileage and ensure timely delivery of freight on scheduled linehaul routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer, documenting any defects or issues.
- Secure freight using appropriate methods to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, co-drivers, and terminal personnel.
- Adhere to all speed limits and traffic laws, prioritizing safety above all else.
- Represent Southeastern Freight Lines professionally to customers and the public.
- Participate in ongoing training and safety programs as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 24 months (2 years) of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations in the past 3-5 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and ELD operations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to operate a manual transmission (preferred, but not always required for all equipment)
