Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate tanker trucks for the transport of liquid bulk materials, including hazardous and non-hazardous substances.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, ensuring all components are in safe working order.
- Strictly adhere to all DOT regulations, federal and state laws, company policies, and hazmat handling procedures.
- Properly load and unload various liquid commodities, ensuring secure containment and compliance with safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery receipts, and other required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules, potential delays, and safety concerns.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Hazmat (H) endorsement
- Tanker (N) endorsement
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience (tanker experience preferred)
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no disqualifying violations
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, especially those pertaining to hazardous materials
- Commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience transporting specific chemicals or petroleum products
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
