Job Description
We are urgently seeking experienced and highly motivated Dump Truck Operators to join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas. This is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials such as asphalt, aggregates, sand, and other construction-related products to and from various job sites, plants, and quarries within the Houston metropolitan area. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of dump trucks (e.g., tandem, tri-axle, tractor-trailer dump) safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials such as asphalt, aggregates, sand, and other construction debris to and from designated locations.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and adhere to weight limits and state/federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, mileage reports, and delivery manifests.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, and other team members.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks or cleaning of the vehicle as needed.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical failures promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3-5 years)
- Proven experience operating dump trucks in a construction or materials hauling environment
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections thoroughly
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent spatial awareness and maneuvering skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with the job
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of continuous experience as a dump truck operator
- Experience with various types of dump trailers and heavy equipment
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor issues
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
