Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate non-emergency medical transport vehicles, strictly adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols.
  • Skillfully assist patients with boarding and exiting the vehicle, utilizing appropriate lifting and moving techniques and specialized equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, stretchers) with care and professionalism.
  • Secure patients and all medical equipment properly to ensure maximum safety and stability throughout the transport duration.
  • Communicate effectively, courteously, and empathetically with patients, their families, medical staff, and dispatch personnel.
  • Maintain a meticulously clean, organized, and properly stocked vehicle, conducting thorough daily inspections and promptly reporting any maintenance or equipment issues.
  • Complete all required paperwork and electronic documentation accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner, ensuring patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
  • Respond to dispatch calls efficiently and follow assigned routes, prioritizing patient needs and optimizing travel time.
  • Adhere rigorously to patient privacy laws (HIPAA) and maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Provide basic first aid or support as needed, always under supervision and strictly within the defined scope of practice.
  • Be available for scheduled shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.

Required Skills

  • Valid Driver's License (Class D or equivalent) with a clean driving record, verifiable through DMV records.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or the ability to obtain certification within a specified period upon hire).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Proven ability to safely lift and move patients with assistance, consistently utilizing proper body mechanics and available equipment.
  • Strong navigational skills and thorough familiarity with the Colorado Springs area and surrounding regions.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, demonstrating foundational literacy and numeracy.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
