Key Responsibilities
- Actively scout and research emerging artists, producers, and songwriters across various platforms (social media, live shows, online communities, etc.).
- Screen and organize demo submissions, providing initial feedback and recommendations to the A&R team.
- Conduct market research on current music trends, competitor activities, and artist performance analytics.
- Assist in organizing and scheduling artist meetings, showcases, and recording sessions.
- Maintain and update the A&R database, tracking potential talent and project progress.
- Provide administrative support to the A&R department, including managing correspondence, travel arrangements, and expense reports.
- Attend industry events, concerts, and showcases to network and identify new talent.
- Collaborate with marketing, publicity, and legal teams to ensure seamless artist development and project execution.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on potential artists and market insights.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions for artist development, branding, and promotional strategies.
Required Skills
- Profound passion for music, particularly Nigerian contemporary genres (Afrobeats, Highlife, Gospel, Hip-Hop, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms and their role in artist discovery and promotion.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Entertainment Management, Communications, or a related field.
