Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary IT Director to lead our information technology initiatives and strategic planning within Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin. The IT Director will be a pivotal leader, responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our critical IT infrastructure, systems, and applications. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with the organization's overall business objectives and long-term vision.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all IT systems, infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Manage the IT department's budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources and optimal return on technology investments.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance operational efficiency, patient care, and research capabilities.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring favorable terms and quality service delivery.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of all critical IT systems and services.

  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to executive leadership and various departments.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience in strategic IT planning, budget management, and vendor relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, data management, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
