Job Description

Are you a natural leader with a passion for retail and customer service? Boots in Poole is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Shift Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be instrumental in the smooth operation of our store, ensuring an outstanding shopping experience for every customer. You will lead by example, motivating your team to achieve sales targets, maintain high visual merchandising standards, and uphold our commitment to health and beauty expertise. You will be responsible for opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock management, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach a team of retail assistants to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, till reconciliation, and security checks.
  • Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and visual merchandising.
  • Manage stock levels, including receiving deliveries, merchandising, and processing returns/exchanges.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and a problem-solving approach.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in training new team members and supporting their development.
  • Deputise for the Store Manager in their absence, taking full responsibility for the store’s performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to a positive team culture.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a retail environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and POS systems.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Retail Operations or Customer Service.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of health and beauty products and trends.
