Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate and timely processing of client payrolls, including data entry for new starters, leavers, and changes to employee details.
- Learn and apply knowledge of payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance, and statutory payments (e.g., SSP, SMP).
- Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies under supervision, ensuring all figures balance correctly.
- Support in preparing and distributing payslips and payroll reports to clients, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Communicate professionally with clients and colleagues to gather necessary payroll information and answer basic queries.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in line with GDPR regulations and internal data security policies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end payroll procedures, including P60 and P45 processing.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance payroll expertise and professional skills.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and procedures, suggesting efficiencies where possible.
- Undertake general administrative tasks to support the payroll department as required, ensuring smooth daily operations.
