Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised tuition in Maths and English to children aged 4-14, following individualised learning plans.
  • Motivate, encourage, and build rapport with students, fostering a positive and enthusiastic approach to learning.
  • Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child's development.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment within the centre.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including preparing learning resources and maintaining student records.
  • Uphold Explore Learning's high standards of educational quality and customer service.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and ongoing professional development sessions to enhance your tutoring skills.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and parents.
  • Strong GCSE (or equivalent) passes in Maths and English (Grade B/6 or above preferred).
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for education and helping children learn.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and encouraging demeanor.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A-Levels (or equivalent) in Maths or English.
  • Previous experience working with children (e.g., teaching assistant, childcare, tutoring, youth group leader).
  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a university degree programme.
  • Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for primary and secondary education.
