We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team in Cardiff. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range strategic plans.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and performance tracking against key financial metrics.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support business cases, investment decisions, and scenario planning.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management and various stakeholders.
- Identify and articulate key financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation or exploitation.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting tools, and analytical methodologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to gather data, understand business drivers, and provide financial insights.
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and analyses as required to support strategic initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, with at least 3-5 years in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualization).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent.
- Experience within the financial services or insurance industry.
- Familiarity with financial reporting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI).
- Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization techniques.
