Key Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms according to event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and decor.
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously to guests, adhering to all service standards and special requests.
  • Clear tables, transport used dishes and glassware to the dishwashing area, and maintain cleanliness throughout the event space.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and effectively to all inquiries and concerns, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, banquet captains, and other team members to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and company policies.
  • Assist with the breakdown of banquet rooms after events, including cleaning, stacking chairs, and storing equipment.
  • Handle and store banquet equipment properly to prevent damage and ensure longevity.
  • Maintain a professional and polished appearance at all times, reflecting the hotel's brand standards.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and stand for extended periods.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) as a banquet server or in a similar food and beverage service role.
  • Smart Serve certification is required prior to employment.
  • Familiarity with various types of event setups and service styles.
  • Experience working in a hotel or conference centre environment.
