Job Description

Distributions St-Hubert is actively seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to join our dedicated team in Gatineau, Quebec. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business growth and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant provincial and federal financial regulations and tax requirements.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and liaise with auditors.
  • Evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation (Chartered Professional Accountant)
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership position
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French (bilingualism preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food distribution or manufacturing industry
  • Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
