Are you a skilled and experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver with a passion for the open road and a desire for diverse, cross-border routes? Schneider National is seeking dedicated American drivers based out of our Indianapolis, Indiana hub to join our elite team for cross-border operations primarily focusing on routes into Saskatchewan, Canada. As a Cross-Border Truck Driver with Schneider, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of goods between the United States and Canada, ensuring compliance with all international customs regulations and transportation laws. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle on designated cross-border routes between the United States and Canada, primarily into Saskatchewan.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of freight, adhering to all scheduled pickups and deliveries.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including manifests, customs declarations, and logs, both electronic and paper.
- Comply with all federal, state, provincial, and company regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules and international customs procedures.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor-trailer equipment, ensuring all safety components are in working order.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, customs officials, and customers.
- Manage and secure freight according to company and industry standards.
- Represent Schneider National professionally at all times, demonstrating exceptional customer service.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety training.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years (24 months) of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience
- Ability to obtain a valid passport and willingness to travel into Canada
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and PSP report
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT and HOS regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and in-cab technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous cross-border driving experience (US-Canada)
- Familiarity with Canadian trucking regulations and customs processes
- Experience with various types of freight and trailers (dry van, reefer, flatbed)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- TSA PreCheck or HAZMAT endorsement
