Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on restaurant equipment, including kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, and plumbing, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conduct minor repairs on equipment and fixtures, such as fryers, grills, beverage machines, restrooms, and dining area furniture, promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure all safety equipment is in good working order and conduct regular checks (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency exits) to maintain a secure environment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of external areas, including parking lots, drive-thru lanes, and waste disposal areas, to uphold brand standards.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs in accordance with company and local regulations, promoting environmental responsibility.
- Assist in the repair and upkeep of exterior building elements, such as signage and lighting, ensuring the restaurant's curb appeal.
- Perform daily visual checks of the restaurant facilities to proactively identify potential maintenance issues before they escalate.
- Coordinate with external vendors for major repairs or specialized maintenance when necessary, overseeing their work to ensure quality and compliance.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for historical tracking and compliance purposes.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation standards mandated by McDonald's and local regulatory bodies.
- Identify and report larger maintenance issues to management that require professional intervention, providing clear descriptions of problems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general maintenance or a related trade, preferably in a commercial or restaurant setting, demonstrating practical skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with the ability to perform minor troubleshooting and repairs.
- Proficiency with common hand and power tools necessary for various maintenance tasks, ensuring efficient work execution.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and exceptional attention to detail, allowing for accurate diagnosis and resolution of issues.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in various conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting issues and coordinating with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
- Prior experience specifically within a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) environment, understanding operational demands.

- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations pertinent to restaurant operations.
