Job Description

Berkshire Bank is actively seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Bank Teller in our Boston, MA branch. Key Responsibilities

  • Process a variety of customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and transfers.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer by adhering to established bank policies and procedures.
  • Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services, such as new accounts, loans, or online banking features.
  • Answer customer inquiries, resolve minor account discrepancies, and provide information on bank policies and services.
  • Adhere strictly to all security, compliance, and regulatory guidelines, including BSA/AML requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing friendly, professional, and personalized service.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance product knowledge and service skills.
  • Assist with branch opening and closing procedures as needed, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in cash handling or a customer service-oriented role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort with financial software.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Bank Teller or in a similar financial services role.
  • Familiarity with banking products, services, and regulatory compliance.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; some college coursework is a plus.
